Varieties

Firefighter - A red hybrid tea from Orard (2003) This one IS fragrant.  a reasonable replacement for some of older fragrant reds like Chrysler Imperial or Papa Meilland.   The blooms are a little low on the petal count but they last a day longer than Chrysler and don't blue (turn magenta when they age), as much.   Disease resistance looks to be pretty good.
    * Honey Perfume - A very pretty and clean apricot colored floribunda that seemed fragrant....but not strongly. So far it's pretty clean.
    * Lady Mitchell - This one is cherry red hybrid tea and somewhat attractive though mine wasn't fragrant and didn't have exhibition form as promised.   It seems to have some disease resistance though.
    * Mary Jean - A soft apricot hybrid tea from Harkness (1991) that was supposed to ball in warmer climates. Strangely, mine didn't ball it blew open quickly instead. Maybe because the petal count was a little light. Pretty color though.
    * Memorial Day - Maybe it's the weather but all my blooms from this one had bullnoses.   This is especially upsetting as I have 3 of this plant and hate bullnoses.   So no on exhibition form.   Fragrance is there but it evaporates fairly quickly in my garden.
    * Midnight Blue - Small (1 inch) dark violet blooms with yellow stamens.    It is one of those roses that elicits comments like "is that rose?".   Some fragrance.
    * Misty Twilight - .   needed more petals.   Maybe this will improve with age.
    * Neptune - Of the new roses for 2004,    It has fragrance but not as strong as advertised.   However, the color is nice, a light lavender, slightly darker than Blue Girl or Blue Moon.   The form is promising and there is substance so that the blooms last a little longer than some.
    * Fragrant Keepsake - As expected, this yellow edged pink hybrid tea looks a lot like many others.  It also wasn't very fragrant.   I'm not sure why they released this one.  The blooms didn't last as long as French Perfume or Success Story which they resemble.
    * Wildfire - Turned out to be a just okay looking orange hybrid tea with average form and no fragrance.  It reminded me of Candelabra, which was an AARS winner in 1999 that failed to excite.
